ABOUT STUDIO INSIGHT

Founder’s Story

Coworking For 20 Years

When Shelley Moore started her first business in 1999, she began at home… traveling to client sites and running meetings in hotel conference rooms. With a growing company, she decided five years into it, she needed a professional, vibrant place to work. Hopping from home office to client office was grueling and uninspiring. In 2006, she opened Studio Insight as a creative coworking space for staff and associates to serve clients of her two businesses.

“I DIDN’T KNOW HOW MANY EMPLOYEES I REALLY WANTED. I MOSTLY WANTED TO WORK WITH OTHER EXPERTS AND ASSOCIATES, together with whom I SERVED CLIENTS. TODAY, EVERYONE ON MY TEAM WORKS REMOTE. IT HAS BEEN THAT WAY FOR YEARS, WAY BEFORE COVID STRUCK. YET, THE NEED FOR A CREATIVE COWORKING SPACE REMAINS THE SAME.”

For 14 years, Studio Insight has been home to Insight’s inside circle. In 2019, plans began to open the circle to a small group of like-minded remote workers, freelancers, independent producers and entrepreneurs who desire to have an exceptional space and community of comrades to cowork with on an as-needed basis.

Shelley’s vision was to provide a monthly or annual membership business model where members can come and go using space without the obligation of a mortgage, lease and expenses. For a flat monthly or annual fee, members simply schedule their coworking time using an online scheduler and show up when they need to get away and focus.

What Is Coworking?

Coworking is sharing a workspace that provides a creative environment to focus and feel inspired. The energy of a vibrant space and access to a community of like-minded self-starters encourages creativity, innovation, courage, and opportunities to learn.

Coworking is the practice by which professionals or a small team who do not necessarily share a company or organizational sector, come together to work together in the same space. They can simply enjoy being around the energy of others, or they can engage and contribute value to each other’s personal and professional development.

While the main objective may be to have a space away from home to focus, or to be in a space to relate to others with similar motivations, one of the largest benefits of a coworking space is the significantly reduced expenses and bills associated with it. A coworking space provides a much more competitively-priced infrastructure than leasing or owning an office. It also eliminates the distractions and lack of tools created by working from home.

Coworking spaces offer workstations, private offices, meeting rooms, and informal conversation areas where members can meet with clients or colleagues and have a place to separate work and personal life. It is the ideal setting to interact with other professionals and share a project or a good coffee.

Finally, coworking spaces and their vibrant environments are sought to be somewhat "unique" — leaving behind the typical office furniture and demotivating rooms — instead providing a multi-functional place where cross-cultural interactions can thrive.
